I'm a ballerina

The second half of the education plan for 2009 includes ballet, soccer, speech and keepers, but I'm going to split them up into individual posts.

Ballet

Sisti was really most interested in ballet, but of course wanted her sister to do it with her. ReRe said before they started that she would do it, but she didn't want to be in any shows.

"I'm just not that kind of girl."

Sisti piped up, "Well, I am!"

I grabbed this pic just as we were leaving- my girls had already changed shoes.

We are so blessed to have found a small ballet studio who teaches classical ballet from a Christ centered perspective! Hence the name Grace and Glory Studios. Otherwise, these girls may never have had the opportunity to learn it. Much of what I have seen around here with "dance" classes for little girls is just well, not things we want our girls to learn to do. Dance moves and costumes. Even if it is not in their particular class, there are recitals in which the older girls perform other types of dance. In my opinion, the negative would outweigh the positive. I am just so thankful to have found this Godly family who runs the studio and that also serves our community with speech and debate classes (coming up next.)

spot on assessment of the state of dance schools in our area (and in american generally), and i whole-heartedly support your position to avoid all of it. so glad you found a studio that fits your needs. wish there were more of them.

and kudos to ReRe for knowing herself so well!

That is awesome! Hannah was in a studio that was not Christ centered in the slightest. We pulled her quickly. Where is this studio?
