Nov 13, 2010- Purchased land at auction

Dec 4- tour of Doug Kalmer's passive solar home and Bob's off-grid solar electric home

Dec 5- Earth Advocates Research Farm (Adam Turtle) and Webster family homestead

Dec 10- Closed on land

Dec 16- MTEMC visit and estimate (Middle TN Electric Membership Coop)

Jan 4- consult at land with Rutherford County Extention Agents

Jan 10- Consult at land with NRCS agent Jason McAfee

Jan 15- tour of Ferguson family's straw bale home

Jan 19- home design consult with Ryan Nichols with Green Home

Jan 20-22 SSAWG Conference (Southern Sustainable Agriculture Working Group)

Feb 2, 2011- Culvert installed

Feb 5- consultation at land with Adam Turtle, permaculture expert

Feb 19- consultation at land with Jerry Smith on passive solar siting and design

Feb 18- purchased seed from Bonnie's Barnyard

Feb 21- seeded 150 lbs annual ryegrass. cleaned out the spring

Feb 23- seeded 50 lbs ladino white clover and 100 lbs crimson clover. took a sample from the spring to get tested by the health dept

Feb 23- ordered 3# of 4.9 bees from Wolf Creek Bees and hive from Bon Aqua Springs Apiaries

March 11- picked-up beehive

March 12- marked out garden site

March 16- set up t-posts for garden site, strung fishing line fence and covered 1/3 garden area with cardboard for start of "lasagne" type garden. Planted sugar snap peas and 19 blackberry canes (dug from my and my dads gardens) around outside perimeter of garden area.

March 22- tilled area for strawberries, planted 10 wineberry canes, 15 blackcap raspberry canes (that will bear this year) and 2 boysenberry canes on perimeter, purchased from Adam turtle (Earth Advocates Reserach Farm)

March 25-26- TOGA Conference (Tennessee Organic Growers Association)

April 13- recieve bees
